Love Shelter animals

If you or anyone you know is looking for a new companion to add to your family, please look at a shelter first.

Right now, 5 million animals are getting put down a year because they are not able to find homes(Which is a drastic change to what it was back in 1980 which was 17 million).

There are pure breeds at shelters too. So even if you are looking for a pure breed cat/dog, you will be able to find them in shelters. From varying ages.

Also look into adopting an elder dog rather than a puppy. Puppies are more likely to be adopted then a senior dog. If they don't have much time left, don't they deserve to be loved and have a home before their time to go?

A senior dog will greet you and love you just as much as a puppy would

I say this because, before I was interested in adopting a puppy. Then I met a dog who was the complete opposite of what I was looking for. I am in the process of adopting him but am waiting for a few more things to pass before I am able to. But this dog, a 9yr old shiba, pretty much has a hold of my heart. Even if I'm not able to adopt him, I'm sure I will adopt a senior dog.

Adopt, don't shop!

However, if you are not able to adopt. Do not buy from pet stores If you must get a pure breed puppy, please do research on breeders and the breed itself.
